Karen Sue (McDowell) Andrews

Karen Sue Andrews, also known as “Susie” by loved ones; age 57, of Chandler, Texas passed away on January 23, 2021 after about a two year battle with Breast cancer. Karen was born on March 24, 1963 to William and Joyce (Evans) McDowell in Waxahachie, Texas. Karen mostly grew up in Ferris, Texas and has one brother Larry McDowell. She then graduated from Ferris High School and worked many years in retail. In 2002, she met Doug Andrews and they wed in 2005, and were married for 16 years. Karen was a loving and caring companion to Doug. Their love and friendship was appreciated by Doug’s two children April and Adrian. Karen left behind many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. They all loved and appreciated who Karen was as a person and the love and appreciation she showed back to them. Karen had a special connection with her two and half year old great-niece Kori Peden. From the time Kori was born Karen would never fail to see, hold or take care of Kori when she would come and visit. Kori loved Karen deeply as well. If Karen was not there she would ask “where is my Karen?” We will remind Kori, as she grows older, of her special bond with “ her Karen” and of the love that they had for one another. Karen and Doug also have a beloved fur baby named Ginger. Ginger brought great joy to Karen and Doug’s life. Karen had an unwavering faith and a true love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Karen’s favorite scripture was Psalm 23. This scripture brought great peace, comfort and joy to Karen in her last days.

Karen was predeceased by her father William McDowell.

She is survived by her beloved husband Douglas Andrews; mother Joyce McDowell; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Patti McDowell; two grandchildren; four nephews; three nieces; four great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Green Funeral Home in Ferris. Mask Required.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Pastor Steven Hamm Officiating. Mask Required.

Burial will follow at Ferris Memorial Park North, Ferris, Texas.
