Kandie Elaine Bredeson, age 63 of Red Oak, Texas, passed away on May 2, 2025. She was born on November 24, 1961. Kandie attended high school in Grand Prairie, Texas and later pursued studies in real estate at Arlington State, now known as UT Arlington. With a determined and independent spirit, she ventured into the countryside of Ennis, Texas where she embraced her love for horses and became an accomplished barrel racer. Her career path led her to join her father’s company, Rebco, where she took on various roles, eventually managing the entire operation with her signature headstrong resolve. Her tenacity and dedication were hallmarks of her work. Kandie also enjoyed playing games at the casino, often taking trips to Shreveport, Louisiana and to the casinos in Oklahoma. She also cherished her time with animals and was an avid collector of elephant figurines. She loved dining out, and enjoying meals at her favorite restaurants. Kandie also cared for her father during his illness, demonstrating her unwavering loyalty and compassion. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her love for the countryside, and her independent nature. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters.
She is survived by her longtime companion and common law spouse Richard Merrill; and several longtime friends from her high school years.
