Obituary

Juan De Dios Chávez, de 80 años, de Lancaster, Texas, falleció el jueves 3 de septiembre de 2020. Nació en México, hijo de los fallecidos Genovevo y Antonia (Trejo) Chávez. Se casó con el amor de su vida Irene Chávez y comenzó su familia. Juan trabajó como mecánico, le encanta cocinar y pasar tiempo con su amorosa familia y sus amados nietos. Como vaquero, tenía una profunda pasión por las mascotas y los animales de todo tipo. Estuvo dedicado a su país, siempre encontrando maneras de mostrar su patriotismo, pero siempre disfrutó de sus visitas de regreso a México para ver a familiares y amigos. Será echado de menos por todos los que lo conocieron.

Le sobrevive su esposa Irene Chávez de Lancaster; hijos: María y su esposo Juan Escogido, Armandina y su esposo Armando Espinoza, Rodrigo y su esposa Horalva Chávez, Filimon Chávez, Vicente y su esposa Anna Chávez, Antonio Chávez, Herlinda y su esposo David López; 16 nietos y muchos sobrinos, sobrinas y otros familiares y amigos.

Es precedido en la muerte por sus padres, dos hermanas y dos hermanos.

La visita comenzará a las 4:00 PM del miércoles 9 de septiembre de 2020 en el Domo San Juan Diego de la Parroquia Católica Corpus Christi. 111 n. Wood Street, Ferris, Texas 75125.

La misa de cristiana sepultura se llevará a cabo a la 1:00 PM del jueves 10 de septiembre de 2020 en el Santuario de la Parroquia Católica Corpus Christi.

*Por orden de la Diócesis de Dallas, la Parroquia Católica Corpus Christi (CCCP) sólo está permitiendo hasta 150 personas, incluyendo niños, a todos los servicios que se llevan a cabo dentro de la iglesia. Las máscaras faciales deben usarse correctamente dentro del santuario (cubriendo la nariz y la boca) y solo se pueden quitar para recibir la comunión.

Juan De Dios Chavez, age 80, of Lancaster, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020. He was born in Mexico to the late Genovevo and Antonia (Trejo) Chavez. He married the love of his life Irene Chavez and began their family. Juan worked as a mechanic, he love to cook and spend time with his loving family and beloved grandchildren. As a cowboy, he had a deep passion for pets and animals of all kinds. He was devoted to his country, always finding ways to show his patriotism, but always enjoyed his return visits to Mexico to see family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by wife Irene Chavez of Lancaster; children: Maria and husband Juan Escogido, Armandina and husband Armando Espinoza, Rodrigo and wife Horalva Chavez, Filimon Chavez, Vicente and wife Anna Chavez, Antonio Chavez, Herlinda and husband David Lopez; 16 grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 with Rosary at 7:00 PM in the Dome at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish. 111 N. Wood Street, Ferris, Texas 75125. *Mask required.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2020 in the Sanctuary at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish. 

* By order of the Diocese of Dallas, Corpus Christi Catholic Parish (CCCP) is only allowing up to 150 people, including children, to all services that take place within the church. Face masks must be worn correctly within the sanctuary (covering the nose and mouth) and can only be removed to receive communion.

Interment following at 2:00 PM at Ferris Memorial Park North, Ferris, Texas.
