John Dan Wier II

John D. Wier II of Red Oak, Tx., unexpectedly died on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. John was born on January 23, 1976 in Freeport, Texas to John Wier I and Lola Griffin. John was known for his sense of humor and his big heart. He provided support to many people and was willing to help others whenever possible. He loved watching the Nebraska and Chicago football games as he grew up in both of those areas until he moved to Texas in 1987.

John had a certificate in culinary arts and held various positions over the years including: assistant chef, customer service, furniture sales, and various management positions. His most recent position was as a manager at Haverty's furniture store.

Survivors include his son Christopher Wier of Red Oak, Texas; mother Lola Griffin of Red Oak, Texas; sister Lesley Gillespey of Red Oak, Texas; half brother Daniel and wife Chelsa Wier  of San Angelo, Texas; niece Leona Wier of San Angelo, Texas; niece Lyla Wier of San Angelo and many beloved aunts, one uncle and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father John Wier I, step-fathers: CJ Penner and John Griffin; grandparents: Ernest and Lola Kapustka; grandparents Reg and Mary Wier; and aunt Eva Curry.

The family plans a Memorial Service to be held at a later date.
