Jimmy “Fuzzy” Eugene Missman, age 80 of Red Oak, Texas, passed away on November 16, 2024. Born in Nashville, Arkansas on November 10, 1944, Fuzzy was raised by his loving grandparents. From a young age, he developed a passion for motorcycles, spending countless hours tinkering in his father’s motorcycle shop—a hobby that would become a lifelong love. Fuzzy enlisted in the U.S. Army on the day of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, a historic moment that marked the beginning of his military service. He served honorably in Vietnam and earned the National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, Fuzzy was a tool & die setter for over 30 years working at Brockway in Dallas until his retirement. His love of motorcycle & small engine repair prompted him to enrolled in community college to get his degree and make a living of it. The instructor saw how much knowledge he had and would often have him co-teach alongside him. Fuzzy loved NASCAR, football—cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers, and playing dominoes at the picnic table outside his home. A fixture in his neighborhood, he was adored by young and old alike for his sharp wit, bold personality, and his collection of motorcycles. In retirement, Fuzzy continued his love of motorcycles and small engines. The family remembers trips to Galveston and motorcycle adventures to Whitney, Texas, and was a longtime regular at the Waxahachie, Texas Country Reporter events. He also shared a special bond with Edgar, his beloved cat. Known for his sarcasm, humor, and no-nonsense attitude, Fuzzy never hesitated to speak his mind or crack a joke to keep everyone on their toes. His family and friends will always remember him as a bold, unapologetic, and fiercely loyal man who lived life on his own terms.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and niece Crystal.
He is survived by wife Virginia Lynne Missman; daughter Marci and husband Darryl Laxson of Ennis, Texas; grandson US Navy Petty Officer Cyrrus Laxson and fiancé Kae Ueno; granddaughter Niya Laxson and partner Lauren Gutierrez of Ennis, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and dear friends.
