Jimmie David Hutchings, born March 16, 1948, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Edward Roscoe and Pearlie (Webb) Hutchings, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024. Jimmie grew up in Ferris, Texas, where he attended Ferris School and graduated from Ferris High School.
After completing his education, Jimmie entered the workforce, dedicating many years as an offset printer. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to start his own successful business, Ferris Printing, where he worked tirelessly to serve his community. He continued his career at Walmart for 22 years fostering long lasting friendships, being known as kind-hearted and always working for a laugh.
Jimmie was a man of many passions. He loved metal detecting, collecting old coins, fishing, and camping. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished his time in nature and found joy in simple pleasures like visiting the beach, especially in Rockport, Texas. He was proud of his 1988 Ford pickup and could often be found working on it or other projects around the house. Jimmie also enjoyed working on cars and watching old Westerns, a favorite pastime that brought him much comfort and joy.
Family was at the heart of Jimmie's life. His grandkids and great grand son were his world, and he delighted in teaching his sons to ride motorcycles and four-wheelers and the proper way to bait a hook. Known for his hard-working nature, Jimmie was always handy and never shied away from a task that needed doing.
Jimmie was known to be stubborn in all the best ways, qualities that endeared him to those who knew him well. His determination and spirited personality remained with him until the very end of his life.
