Jessie Gonzales Perez, Sr.

Jessie Gonzalez Perez, Sr., age 76 of Ennis, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He was born on December 17, 1947 in Port Lavaca, Texas, to Luis Najar Perez, Sr. and Ramona Gonzalez. From a young age, Jessie took on various jobs to help support his family. Later, he built a fulfilling career in construction, where his hard work and determination were evident in every project he undertook. Jessie had a passion for fishing, whether casting a line in local lakes and streams, or embarking on the deep-sea. One of his family’s fondest memories was the thrill he experienced catching a shark off the pier in Galveston - a story he loved to recount. Jessie was also a gifted restorer of old cars and trucks and enjoyed tinkering with small engines in his spare time. Known for his big heart and generous spirit, Jessie was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family in need. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was sharing a cold beer with friends and loved ones, or cracking a witty joke. His personality was a blend of humor, quiet wisdom, and a touch of stubbornness that endeared him to everyone who knew him. Jessie was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother and uncle who cherished his family deeply. His love, care and unforgettable presence will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Luis Sr. and Ramona Perez; wife Jackie Marie Perez; siblings: Bertha Hernandez, Mary Ann Perez, Estella Perez, Eddie Perez, Luis Perez, Jr., Amelia Perez, Johnny Perez and Geronimo Perez.
He is survived by his children: Shane Perez, Seath Perez, Sean Perez, Bradlee Perez, Makayla Perez, Jessie Perez Jr., Eddie Perez, Romona Perez and Maria Garcia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Beatrice Moffat, Esther Lara, and Mary Calzada; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.
