Javier Lopez, Sr., age 72 of Ennis, Texas passed away January 23, 2025. He was born on January 14, 1953 in Encinal, Texas to Panfilo Sr. and Maria (Perez) Lopez. Javier grew up in the countryside, where he developed a connection to the land and hard work. After his education, he began working in the fields, laboring to pick cotton and other crops. His strong work ethic carried him into a 30-year career as a glazer at JPON Glass Company. Afterward, he worked various jobs until his well-earned retirement. Known for his bubbly personality and quick wit, Javier brought laughter and joy to everyone he met. He loved telling jokes and had an infectious sense of humor. His love for crafting and woodworking was evident in the many projects he created with his tools, which he cherished dearly. Javier also enjoyed collecting various treasures, finding value in the simplest things. In his younger years, Javier was a talented accordion player and performed with a family band, sharing his passion for Tejano music. He carried this love of music with him throughout his life. Cooking was another of his many talents—his zucchini with chicken and sirloin steaks were family favorites and he always had plenty of pecans to snack on. Javier’s memory will live on through the laughter, stories, and love he shared with his family and friends. He was a man of many talents and an even greater heart, and his legacy will inspire all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Panfilo Sr. and Maria Lopez; brother Panfilo Lopez, Jr. and Sister Josefina Gonzales.
