Jacqueline Sue (Oates) Templer, age 84 of Ennis, Texas passed away on November 19, 2025. She was born April 8, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Jack and Estelline (Atkinson) Oates. Sue grew up in Palmer, Texas where she attended school and graduated with the Palmer High School Class of 1959. Throughout her life she maintained strong ties to her community and the friends she made along the way. A gifted businesswoman, Sue owned and managed various investment properties over the years. She took great pride in her work and in the things she cared about. Sue had a deep love for travel, especially cruises, and cherished her time spent in Destin, Florida along with other memorable destinations. She was helpful, loving, and giving, always putting others before herself. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, celebrating every milestone and moment with them. One of her greatest joys was cooking for her loved ones and hosting holiday gatherings, creating traditions and memories that will last for generations. Sue will be remembered for her kindness and the love she poured into her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Estelline Oates.
She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Leach, son-in-law Gary Leach, daughter Linda and husband Darrell Lassetter; four grandchildren: Brooke Hunter, Colin Leach, Brandon Lassetter and Clare Dobbins; six great-grandchildren: Daxton, Bryson, Brooklyn, Dusk, Emma and Cade; sister Shirley Prater; as well as other extended family members and dear friends.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Palmer Cemetery -Palmer, Texas. Pastor James Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the general fund of the Fundamental Baptist Church -Palmer, Texas.
