Janice Carol Mahoney entered peacefully into Heaven, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. She is now fully healed and resting in the arms of Jesus. Janice was born on July 1, 1955 in Bryan, Texas to Louie Williams and Gladys (Voight) Williams. She met the love of her life James, at the S and S Club and Restaurant in Temple, Texas at her sister Susie’s birthday party, and they were married on August 22, 1970 in Waco, Texas. She traveled with her husband during his military service before making her home in Somerville, Massachusetts, for 21 years. She later moved back to Texas in 1997 to be closer to her mother and family. Her greatest joy and biggest accomplishment was being a wife and a stay-at-home mother, raising her four daughters. One of her favorite titles became “Nana” to her amazing grandchildren. She was a beautiful person inside and out who loved unconditionally with her whole heart. She was a child of God, a warrior, a bright light- loving, kind, compassionate, humble and selfless- and she treated everyone like family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, camping, trips to the casino, playing games, crocheting, sewing, quilting, listening to music and watching movies. Her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
Janice was preceded in death by her father Louie Williams and her mother Gladys “Sandra” Ngiratumrang; her sister, Barbara Kay Vedros; and her sister, Mary Sue Canales.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Mahoney; her daughters, Shannon Vinson and husband Chris; Jennifer Dovidio and husband Rickey; Jaime Mahoney; and Maureen McIntosh and husband Robert; and her eight beautiful grandchildren: James Vinson, Kaylyn Dovidio, Abigail Foster and husband Jonathan, Domenic Dovidio, Robert McIntosh, Olyvia Dovidio and Madilyn McIntosh. She is also survived by her stepfather, Elias Ngiratumrang and wife, Linda; her brothers, James “Butch” Williams and wife, Cindi; Johnny Williams and Marion Edwin; her brother-in-law, Eugene “Geno” Vedros; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly.
Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Green Funeral Home 105 Vintage Dr, Red Oak, Texas 75154.
