Nick Copeland, age 75 of Red Oak, Texas passed away November 21, 2023. He was born March 17, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to Jesse Nick and Lillian Agnes (Lehman) Copeland. Nick attended school at Saint James in South Oak Cliff and graduated from DeSoto High School Class of 1966, then attending El Centro College in downtown Dallas. In High School he loved drag racing and later started his own company in the family garage. Nick met the love of his life Angela Judith Smith, they were married March 22, 1969, to this union was born three children. With his children he started Copeland Racing, with this they traveled all over the United States and was also his son’s Boy Scout Troop Leader. Nick had a funny sense of humor and was a very kind and sweet person. He was a hobby gardener and also loved raising his goats and chickens. He was a lover of guns and thought of as a gunsmith by many, even teaching gun safety to his children and grandchildren. He founded and ran Bulldog Ironworks for many years until his retirement. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Lillian Copeland; and brother Mark Edward Copeland.
He is survived by his loving wife Angela Copeland of Red Oak, Texas; children: James Nick and wife Crystal Copeland of Italy, Texas, Amanda Copeland and companion Ryan Staggs of Waxahachie, Texas, and Kristen and husband Bryan Paine of Aurora, Colorado; six grandchildren: Kayley Moore, Daniel Najera, Michael Najera, Jay Copeland, Hunter Copeland, and Daniel Paine; great-grandchild Parker Lane and sister Phyllis Copeland of DeSoto, Texas; and beloved bulldog Bella.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish Lancaster, Texas.
Entombment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery Ennis, Texas.
