James H. Webb Jr.

James H. Webb, Jr., age 83 of Dallas, Texas passed away on June 28, 2025. Born on July 10, 1941 in Groesbeck, Texas, he was the son of James Henry Webb, Sr. and Edna Clara Curry. The ninth of eleven children, James was raised in the community of Mart, Texas. He graduated from high school in Marlin, Texas and later pursued higher education at Eastfield College in Dallas, earning his associate degree and his journeyman electrician certification. James dedicated over two decades of his career to Hooker Chemical, now Oxy, and later worked with Sara Lee until his retirement; where, fittingly, his favorite product was their corn dogs. James cared selflessly for both his mother and father in their later years. Though often stubborn and serious, he was known for his humor, pranks, and the loving mischief he delighted in sharing with his nieces and nephews, whom he treated more like his own children. A generous and thoughtful man, James frequently went out of his way to help others, like buying groceries and gas for his younger brother in their youth, even trading cars with his brother so his wouldn’t get dirty at work. He welcomed everyone as family and gave of his time and resources without hesitation. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting deer and fishing with his nephews on his land, as well as maintaining a beautiful garden. James had a deep appreciation for music of all kinds and a soft spot for the neighborhood cats, whom he cared for faithfully. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched through his quiet acts of kindness and unwavering love.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James H. and Edna Webb; longtime companion and girlfriend Jimmie Hill; siblings: inf. sister Henredna, Gladys, Ruby, Murl, James and Jerry.

He survived by siblings: brother Ben and wife Bonnie Webb, brother Bobby and wife Neil Webb, sister Tommie Hunter and brother Jacky and wife Laura Webb; his nephew and caregiver Robert and wife Chastity Webb; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Green Funeral Home -Ferris, Texas. 

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Green Funeral Home -Ferris, Texas. 

Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park -Balch Springs, Texas.
