James Trull Obituary

James Rex Trull age 81 of Red Oak, Texas passed away July 28, 2022. A Texan his whole life, he was born in Venus, Texas on December 8, 1940 to the late Elvin Joseph, Sr. and Louise (Campbell) Trull. He attended Lancaster, Texas schools from first grade. Beginning work for Sears, then serving as a fireman. He also worked in road construction for the highway department, assisting in the building of I-35, then back to Sears as a truck driver. With them he logged over two million miles and retired after 27 years. He continued driving heavy trucks and worked a few odd jobs here and there. He was a good man, generous of himself, his time, and his possessions. Rex enjoyed cooking at home making stews, soups and beans, but remembered most for his fudge. Sometimes eaten with a spoon, sometimes with a chisel, but everyone always loved this special treat. He was not always a social individual but had a dedicated group of dear friends. He married the love of his life Grace Woods on June 29, 1980. Together they shared 42 years and one month. Grace remembers special a vacation they took together to the Texas Panhandle to see her family. Rex enjoyed the outdoors: gardening, hunting, and fishing. He also raised racing homing pigeons, competing in numerous contests. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Elvin Joseph Trull, Jr., Sister Billie Jean Watts, brother Ronnie Joe Trull and granddaughter Jennifer Markgraf.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Grace Trull; daughter Kim Trull Hazard and husband Kirk of Cedar Hill, daughter Kerri Trull Spencer and husband Gregg of Pittsburgh, son James Kirk Trull of Fairfield, daughter Karen Trull Markgraf and husband Vernon Wickliffe of Bristol and son Kit Trull and Fiancé Sara of Red Oak; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Bellamy; and sister Carolyn Rodgers.
