James Franklin Reese, age 73 of Ferris, Texas passed away on June 18, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1951 in Augusta, Georgia to James Merritt and Pansy Marie (Snuffer) Reese. A proud veteran, James honorably served in both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. His sense of duty and patriotism were evident throughout his life. James was known for his larger-than-life personality; bold, funny, and always the center of attention. He never met a stranger and could light up any room with his outgoing spirit. James lived across the country over the years, building friendships and memories in every place he called home. For many years, he was a valued member of the team at Container Maintenance Corporation, where he found not only a career but a second family. He loved good barbecue, daily his Coca-Cola, and his 2018 Chevy Silverado with the 6.2 engine, his pride and joy. A devoted fan of NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys, James brought the same passion to cheering on his teams as he did to everything in life. He had a deep love for his family and always made his feelings known. You never had to wonder where you stood with him, and every conversation ended with his trademark farewell: “God bless you.” James was truly one of a kind, a man who lived life full throttle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by son James Franklin Reese, II of South Carolina and sister Betty Long of Virginia.
Celebration of Life will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the J Bar C Cowboy Church -Palmer, Texas.
