James Manley Obituary

James Wesley Manley, age 79, of Bristol, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020. He was born in July of 1941 in Paducah, Texas to the late Travis Lee and Vista Alene (McCune) Manley. At the age of 18 he began working as a truck driver. James served our Country in the US Army, 1963 – 1965. After his service, he met the love of his life Glenda Kay Fleming. They were married September 2, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. James had a heart of gold never meeting a stranger and was always willing to help others in need. He enjoyed Friday night poker with his friends and loved the outdoors and could many times be found mowing in the area or caring for the Bristol Cemetery, where he mowed and cared for the cemetery for many years. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Kay Manley of Bristol; children: Shanda and husband Bradley Cox of Bristol and Michael and wife Amanda Manley of Bristol; grandchildren: Hunter Manley and Keeley Manley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Bristol Cemetery Gazebo with US Army Military Honors. Following the service, the family invites those who attend to a gathering at the family home.
