James Taylor “Brother” Lafitte, age 32, passed away on June 28, 2024. He was born in Dallas, TX, on April 20, 1992. James was raised and lived his entire life in Ellis County, Texas. He excelled in welding and auto shop class during his high school years showcasing his knack for fixing engines and working on cars. He had a love for fishing, often on Lake Waxahachie. He spent many memorable days on the lease in Lueders, Texas, hunting deer and wild hogs. James enjoyed listening to country music of the 1990’s and enjoyed working many hours on his vehicles, often found pulling their engines apart and putting them back together. His artistic abilities were remarkable; he could draw anything or anyone with incredible precision. Despite his fear of needles, James loved getting tattoos. His sense of humor and mischievous grin made him the class clown, always ready for a dare with a hearty "hold my beer" attitude. James had a heart of gold, always ready to lend a hand to friends, family, and neighbors in need. He deeply cherished his nieces and his loyal canine companion, Dakota, who was his constant companion on many adventures. James's light and laughter will be missed by all who knew him.
