James Bloyed Obituary

James Roland Bloyed age 84 of Naples, Texas passed away November 16, 2022. He was born May 3, 1938 in Como, Texas to the late James Clifton and Bloyed, and Ina Mae (Finch) Bloyed. James grew up on a farm and started helping as soon as he could. He is remembered for trying to join the military at the age of 17 but was regretfully turned away because of his age. He continued to work on the farm, later driving a fruit truck and then started his career at Childres Custom Canvas Products Inc where he worked for many years. James also loved antique malls, flea markets, and yard sales where he would buy items to cleanup and later resell at his booth at Traders Village. He was also a crafty man, known to find a stone, clean it up and make a beautiful piece of jewelry for his loved ones. He also had a love for nature, flowers, caring for his pecan trees and walking the land where he found and collected many arrow heads over the years. During his walks, James used that time to say his prayers and talk with God. He loved to sing and play music on his steel guitar and harmonica and was very often found watching his favorite western movies. He was very glad to be a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is proceeded in death by his parents James and Ina Bloyed, first wife Helen Marie (Clements) Bloyed; son Jon Eric Bloyed; grandson Larry Hawkins, Jr.; brother Clifton Bloyed and sister Karla Kay Leamon.

He is survived by his wife Billie Cloyce (Bell) Bloyed of Naples, Texas; children: James Roland Bloyed, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Janet and husband Larry Hawkins of Naples, Texas, Joseph Travis Bloyed of Naples, Texas, Pam and husband James House of Palmer, Texas, Tina and husband Lee Morris of Ferris, Texas, David and wife Carla Bratcher of Palmer, Texas, Dean and wife Connie Bratcher of Ferris, Texas, Clarence and wife Elaine Bratcher of Bay City, Texas and Jalene and husband Tommy Morton of Marshall, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him Umpa; sisters: Margie and husband Marvin Cash of Florida and Ellen Carter of Mabank, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and a host of friends as well as his beloved chihuahuas Sweetheart and Sissy.
