James Bryan Abbott

James Bryan Abbott was born January 27th 1980 and passed away tragically on January 8th 2021 at the age of 40. Bryan was the son of the late James Ray Abbott and Peggy Darlene Compton. 

If you knew Bryan, you probably knew two things about him immediately, he loved being a firefighter and he loved being a dad. When Bryan was a little boy he used to run out of his house any time he heard a fire truck go by. He regularly got into trouble for attempting to chase the fire truck so he could ride along. He followed his dreams and ended up working for several different fire departments over the years, eventually becoming Captain for Seven Points Fire Department.  He retired from firefighting in 2020 after 24 years’ service. 

Bryan’s other love was his children. He adored them so much and worked hard to be the best daddy he could be. His babies will miss him dearly 

Bryan is preceded in death by his three sisters: Kerrie Gowin, Sondra Abbott and Rhonda Abbott.

He is survived by his children: Ayden Abbott, Emma Abbott and Hailey Griffin; sister Kristie Patterson of Wilmer; nephew Tay and wife Laura Masterson of Ennis; nieces: Lacy and husband Lance McCarty of Palmer and Monica Masterson of Wilmer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 14 at Green Funeral Home, Mask Required.
