Jacquelyn "Jackie" Pauline (Poole) Cantrell

Jacquelyn "Jackie" Pauline (Poole) Cantrell, age 77 of Ferris, Texas passed away September 19, 2024. Jackie was born on September 24, 1946 in Marshall, Texas. Daughter of William Thomas Poole and Hattie Lucille Kemp. She lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to her family. After completing her education, Jackie met and married the love of her life, Dewey Cantrell. The couple wed on September 3, 1965 in Dallas, Texas, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned 36 years. Jackie worked as a nurse aide for 22 years before joining Dewey in running their own business, where she drove a bobtail truck. Together they raised two children, their son Douglas and daughter Rachel. Jackie was a woman of many talents and interests, she enjoyed painting ceramics, and crochet. She was also an avid fan of dirt track races, frequently attending with her family to see Douglas race. Jackie and Dewey shared a love for traveling, packing up their van and setting off on road trips to various destinations, including Tennessee and Alabama. Jackie was loving, but she also had a fiery spirit when crossed. Above all, she was a devoted mother, always putting her family first. Jackie had a special fondness for Christmas, finding joy in decorating her home with festive lights and watching holiday movies. She especially loved spending time with her son Douglas, cherishing every visit they shared. Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Hattie Poole; husband Dewey Cantrell; brothers: David Gibbs and Danny Stovall.

She is survived by her son Douglas and wife Esther Cantrell of Ferris, Texas; daughter Rachel Cantrell of Ferris, Texas; siblings: Hattie Weaver of Ada, Oklahoma, Maxine Cantrell of Round Rock, Texas, Charles Gibbs of Clarksville, Texas and Donnie Poole; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 -8:00 PM Friday, September 27, 2024 at Green Funeral Home -Ferris, Texas.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Bristol Cemetery -Bristol, Texas.
