J. Isabel "Chabelo" Garcia Olvera

José Isabel "Chabelo" García Olvera, de 57 años, residente de Red Oak, Texas, falleció el 29 de junio de 2025. Nacido el 2 de julio de 1967 en San Luis Potosí, México, fue el hijo mayor de Eugenio García y Rosa Olvera. A los 14 años, Chabelo viajó a Estados Unidos en busca de oportunidades y comenzó a trabajar en la zona de Wilmer, Texas. Allí conoció al amor de su vida, María Antonia Carbajal Rodríguez. Se casaron para formar una familia. De su unión nacieron dos queridos hijos: Carlos y Roxanna.

Chabelo, dedicado a la fabricación de metales, era conocido por su sólida ética de trabajo, su inquebrantable fiabilidad y su generoso corazón. Tenía una presencia imponente y un carácter firme pero afectuoso. Solía ​​decirles a sus hijos: "Si algo no funciona, no se rindan, busquen otra manera", lo que reflejaba su determinación y resiliencia. Siempre hizo hincapié en tener metas, nunca rechazar la oportunidad de aprender, vivir con propósito y ayudarse mutuamente y a los necesitados. Chabelo apoyó y guió a sus hermanos desde pequeña y a menudo se refería a él como una figura paterna. Tenía un espíritu juguetón y un amor por las alegrías sencillas de la vida. Disfrutaba de la jardinería, animar y maldecir a su equipo nacional de fútbol, ​​y ver los combates de boxeo los viernes por la noche. Amaba la música y nunca perdía la oportunidad de compartir una risa o un momento de alegría. Fiel a su palabra, Chabelo y su esposa lanzaron algunos pequeños negocios familiares hasta que se dedicaron a ofrecer castillos inflables, mesas y sillas para fiestas y reuniones.

La fe de Chabelo fue una parte importante de su vida. Fue miembro activo de la parroquia católica Corpus Christi en Ferris, Texas. A través de su parroquia, desarrolló una comunidad y amistades para toda la vida. Como abuelo orgulloso y cariñoso, sus nietos eran infalibles, siempre ofreciéndoles bocadillos y dulces en secreto. Ya sea animando o comentando, los eventos deportivos de sus nietos siempre le llenaban de alegría. Deja un legado de fortaleza, amor y perseverancia. Todos quienes lo conocieron lo extrañarán profundamente.

Le precedieron en la muerte su padre Eugenio García; su abuelo Pedro Olvera; y su abuela Demetria Izaguirre.

Le sobreviven su esposa Antonia Carbajal; hija Roxanna y su esposo Armando De la Cerda; hijo Carlos Carbajal y su esposa Tahlia Núñez; nietos, Ruby, Adán y Selena De la Cerda; Carlos, Santiago y Sebastián Carbajal; madre Rosa Olvera; hermanos, Juliana Argueta, Evodio García, Carlos E. García, Manuel García, Rosa Elena Sánchez, María Nieves García y Amalia García.

El velorio comienza a las 6:00pm del lunes 7 de julio de 2025 en la Funeraria Green de Red Oak, Texas.

La misa de cristiana sepultura se celebrará el martes 8 de julio de 2025 a las 11:00 a. m. en la Parroquia Católica Corpus Christi, Ferris, Texas.

El sepelio se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio Red Oak, también en Red Oak, Texas.

Jose Isabel "Chabelo" Garcia Olvera, age 57, of Red Oak, Texas passed away on June 29th , 2025. Born on July 2nd 1967 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico he was the eldest child of Eugenio Garcia and Rosa Olvera. At the age of 14, Isabel journeyed to the United States seeking opportunity and began working in the Wilmer, Texas area. Here he met the love of his life, María Antonia Carbajal Rodríguez. They married to build a life and family. From their union came two cherished children, Carlos & Roxanna.

A dedicated metal fabricator by trade, Chabelo was known for his strong work ethic, unwavering dependability, and generous heart. He had a commanding presence and a firm but loving nature. He often told his children, “If something doesn’t work don’t give up, find another way,” reflecting his determination and resilience. He always emphasized having goals, never turning down an opportunity to learn, living with purpose, and helping each other and those in need. Isabel helped support and guide his siblings from a young age and was often referred to as a father figure. He had a playful spirit and a love for life’s simple joys. He enjoyed gardening, cheering and cursing his national soccer team, and watching Friday night boxing matches. He loved music and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh or a moment of joy. True to his word, Chabelo and his wife launched a few small family businesses until sticking with offering bounce houses, tables, and chairs for parties and gatherings.

Chabelo’s faith was an important part of his life. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Parish in Ferris, Texas. Through his parish he developed a lifelong community and friendships. As a proud and loving grandfather his grandkids could do no wrong, always offering snacks and candy in secret.  Whether cheering or discussing, the grandkids sports events always brought him joy.He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father Eugenio Garcia; grandfather Pedro Olvera and grandmother Demetria Izaguirre.

He is survived by his:

wife Antonia Carbajal; daughter Roxanna and husband Armando De la Cerda, son Carlos Carbajal and wife Tahlia Nunez; grandchildren: Ruby, Adan, and Selena De la Cerda, Carlos, Santiago, and Sebastian Carbajal; mother Rosa Olvera; siblings: Juliana Argueta, Evodio Garcia, Carlos E. Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Rosa Elena Sanchez, Maria Nieves Garcia and Amalia Garcia.
 

Visitation begins at 6:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2025 at Green Funeral Home -Red Oak, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish -Ferris, Texas.

Burial to follow at Red Oak Cemetery -Red Oak, Texas.
