Horacio "Lacho" Chavez

Horacio "Lacho" Chavez, age 49 of Ennis, Texas; passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He was born January 14, 1971 in Durango, Mexico to Sergio Chavez, Sr. and Blanca Estela Valenciana Ortiz. Coming to the United States with his father at the age of 13, he began working early in his youth in construction and concrete work. Over the years he continued his work in construction and also in the restaurant industry. Later he met Sonia Sandoval who fondly remembers going dancing on their first date. They were married August 25, 1996; together they share three cherished daughters who cherish the memories of family trips to Daytona, Miami and Panama City, Florida. Family and friends will miss his happy disposition, jokes and ability to make anyone laugh. His cooking and especially his Caldo de Res will be be missed. He was an amazing husband, father and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.   

He is survived by loving wife Sonia Sandoval; adored daughters: Amy Chavez, Areli Chavez and Zury Chavez; parents Sergio Chavez, Sr. and Blanca Estela Valenciana Ortiz; siblings: Carlos Chavez, Elia Chavez, Aurora Chavez, Sergio Chavez, Jr. and Daniel Chavez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Visitation: 4:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Ferris, Texas. Mask Required.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Green Funeral Home. Pastor Victor Ramirez officiating. Mask Required.

Burial: 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Ferris Memorial Park North, Ferris, Texas.
