Hiram Augustus Sadler

Hiram Augustus “Gus” Sadler will be remembered for his deep love of music and the joy he found in spending time with his family. Those who knew Gus understood how much he valued these simple yet meaningful parts of life.

Gus dedicated more than 20 years of his professional life to a corporate HVAC company, where he served as president. His leadership, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the organization he helped guide.

A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Gus remained a devoted supporter of Ohio State football throughout his life, always cheering on his team with great enthusiasm.

He also had a natural curiosity about the world, reflected in his cherished collection of National Geographic magazines, a hobby that brought him lasting enjoyment and inspiration over the years.

Gus proudly served in the Navy Reserves, an experience that reflected his dedication and sense of duty.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 31 years, Brenda Sadler; his daughters, Valerie Phillips, Vickie Anderson and her husband Mark, and Diane Smedley and her husband Rick; his stepsons, Chris Ivie and his wife Amanda, Steven New, and Anthony New; his 13 beloved grandchildren: Jennifer, Patrick, Grace, Luke, Emma, Conan, Owen, Chris, Caden, Theran, Austin, Abby, and Lacey; and his faithful companion, his dog Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Augustus and Beulah Sadler; his brother, Charlie; and his sister, Linda.

Gus leaves behind a legacy of love, leadership, and devotion to family that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2026 at Green Funeral Home – Ferris, Texas.

Burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery -Combine, Texas.
