Grace Abney, age 36, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2026. Born on
June 13, 1989, Grace was a miracle from the very beginning. From the moment she entered
the world, she was a gift from God, and her life became a living testament to faith,
perseverance, and unconditional love.
Born with Down syndrome, Grace never allowed limitations to define her. Instead, she lived
with a joy that was contagious and a love that was freely given to everyone she met. She had
a remarkable gift for making people feel instantly welcome — like family — and she left a
lasting impression on every heart she encountered.
Grace shared a close and meaningful bond with both of her sisters. With her oldest sister,
Ruth, she shared many special memories throughout her life, rooted in love, joy, and
countless shared travels. With her sister Laura, Grace grew up side-by-side through life’s
everyday moments, routines, laughter, and love. Together, the three of them formed a bond
that was strong, enduring, and full of grace.
Grace was deeply loved by her parents, who have always remained united in their love and
care for her. Grace shared many special years with her father, filled with road trips,
routines, and countless adventures that created lasting memories.
With her mother, Grace shared an inseparable bond. She found comfort, security, and joy in
being close to her, rarely wanting to be far from her side. Their relationship was one of deep
connection, trust, and unconditional love.
Grace loved the Lord with all her heart and expressed her faith through joy and song. She
loved to sing, watch her favorite shows, and spend time with friends. Her laughter filled
rooms, her songs lifted spirits, and her presence reflected God’s love in the purest way.
Grace is survived by her parents, Steve and Debbie; her sisters, Ruth and Laura; Laura’s
husband, Kyle; her beloved nephews, Luke and Asher; and many cherished friends who
were blessed by her life.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Grace is now whole, healed, and
rejoicing in Heaven. Her life was a gift, her love was unconditional, and her legacy will live
on in the countless lives she touched.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15
