Gordon Winslow, Sr. Obituary

Gordon Ray Winslow, Sr., age 71 of Red Oak, Texas passed away December 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 18, 1951 to the late Charles Robert Winslow and Ona Faye Norton in San Antonio, Texas. The family later moved to West Monroe, Louisiana where he grew up and attended school. Gordon met his lifelong sweetheart Connie Sue Myers at the water fountain in high school. He graduated with the class of 1969 and they were married October 4, 1969. They were blessed with five children and remained happily married for 53 years. After high school, he worked at Olin Kraft paper mill until he got saved in 1972. This began his pursuit to always be obedient and follow the will of God. Soon after, he began preaching all over the area at churches, nursing homes, holding street services and witnessing to his family and friends. In 1978, he began pastoring his first church in Independence, Kansas and pastored several other churches over the years until he began evangelizing for much of the last 12 years. He traveled from coast to coast here in the USA, Canada, Mexico, El Salvador and the Holy Land. Over the last few years his online presence and ministry thrived, reaching an unknown number of souls. Although he was a private and humble man, when he stepped behind the pulpit, he was always anointed and bold. His heartbeat was trusting God and walking by faith. He truly adored his beautiful wife, Connie. He loved to shower her with flowers when he returned from traveling. Even when he was out of town, he called her at least seven to eight times a day. His children and grandchildren were his greatest treasures; each holding a special place in his heart. He loved telling jokes and entertaining them with games and magic tricks. He enjoyed riding horses and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. When he was home, he was always working on special projects. He was a very giving and kind-hearted man, who loved sharing the blessings God had given him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and step-father.
He is survived by his loving wife Connie Sue Winslow of Red Oak; children: Carrie Ann and husband Brian Molloy of Aubrey, Wendy Lyn and husband Greg Dansby of Waxahachie, Elizabeth Faye and husband Gabriel Ramirez of Waxahachie, Gordon Ray Winslow, Jr., and wife April of Center, and Amber Renee and husband Don Spikes of Trophy Club; 13 grandchildren: Courtney, Austin, Blake, Haley, Brandon, Miles, Bryce, Brayden, Gray, Brooke, Gavin, Kingston, and Kate; siblings: Carol Perkins, Phillip Hearne, James Hearne and Roger Hearne; as well as numerous extended family members, church family and dear friends.
