George C. Wilson, Jr.

George Carlton Wilson, Jr. age 88 of red Oak, Texas passed away February 17, 2023. He was born June 17, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to the late George C. and Vera Vesta (Cummings) Wilson. He attended Sunset High School in Dallas, proudly participating in the ROTC. He graduated in 1952 and later attended UTA in Arlington. He joined the US Army and  married Shirley Ann Campbell in 1955. To this union they were blessed with four children. After his time in the army, he worked for Texico then with Fina in office administration until his retirement. His retirement was spent helping with the family floral business with bookkeeping, was always ready to help with his beloved grandchildren. His family also remembers mini, happy, weekends at the lake house on Cedar Creek Lake. He was a very witty, happy individual and loved model airplanes. He greeted everyone he encountered with a warm hello and was loved by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley A. Wilson; sons: Kerry Wilson and Jeff Wilson; son-in-law Ron Hunsaker; siblings: Joe Wilson, Dorothy Harris and Louise Wilson.

He is survived by his daughter Kathie Hunsaker of Red Oak; son Gregg and wife Vickie Wilson; grandchildren: Clint Hunsaker, Kalyn Lewis, and Kris Lewis; great-grandchildren: Garrett Lewis and Molly Lewis.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak.

Celebration of Life will be 7:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak.

Committal will be 11:30 AM Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the DFW National Cemetery Dallas, Texas.  Pastor Jared Douglas officiating.
