November 8, 1933 – March 28, 2025
Frank Marion Bizzell passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025 at age 91 surrounded by friends he considered family.
Born on Nov. 8, 1933 in the quiet town of Strayhorn, MS to Ira D. and Vinnie Lee Bizzell, the youngest of 7 children. Frank’s life was anything but ordinary. From humble beginnings, he carved out a path marked by service, brilliance, adventure, and love—a legacy that has touched at least six generations of family.
Frank served his country with honor, dedicating himself to military service during a time of global uncertainty. That same discipline and courage carried over into his professional life, where he became a gifted programmer at a time when computers were still new and mysterious to most. A pioneer in the field, Frank’s sharp mind and innovative thinking made him a standout in the world of early tech.
But Frank’s life wasn’t all work—it was also filled with play, passion, and exploration. Frank was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars and Ole Miss fan. He was a true lover of snow skiing, spending countless joyful hours on the slopes of Lake Tahoe. It was there, surrounded by crisp mountain air and close companions, that Frank found one of his deepest joys. Whether skiing with family or friends, he was always at home in the snow.
Frank’s adventurous spirit led him across the world—from the jungles of Vietnam to the vibrant streets of the Philippines, from the political heartbeat of Washington, D.C., to the towering skylines of New York. He experienced the serenity of Alaska, the thrill of Tahoe, and the heart of Texas, where he spent most of his later years in Dallas.
Though he never married or had children of his own, Frank’s legacy is etched deeply into the hearts of his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and even his great-great- and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. To us, he was never “alone”—he was surrounded by friends, love, admiration, and respect, always ready with a sharp wit, a thoughtful word, or a warm embrace.
His life reminds us that family goes far beyond titles or timelines—it lives in the connections we build, the laughter we share, and the stories we pass down. His was a life fully lived, and fully loved. Thank you for the trail you blazed, the joy you brought, and the love you gave.
