Eva L. (Chaney) McKenrick

Eva Louise (Chaney) McKenrick, age 38, passed away December 29, 2021. She was born April 30, 1983 in Dallas, Texas to Rodger and Wanda (Brown) Chaney. When she was a year old the family moved to Ferris where she grew up and graduated high school in the class of 2001. She was involved with cheer and softball, but her passion was car racing. Ultimately, she spent 24 years driving, beginning at the age of 14. After her brother passed, she took over driving the family racing car, “street stock”. She had her wins and losses, but she always took them in stride. Eva was five feet tall, but much larger than life. She met and later married the love of her life, Colin McKenrick in a beautiful Galveston beach wedding on June 25, 2011. She was a caring and giving individual, many times avoiding her own needs to see to the needs of others. She loved her pets and many other animals, taking in and caring for many strayed and  lost pets over the years, if she could, she would have taken them all. Her heart of gold will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and brother Rodger Chaney. 

She is survived by her husband David Colin McKenrick of Ferris; son Blake McKenrick; parents Rodger and Wanda Chaney of Ferris; sister Randa Patrick of Hutchins, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members and dear friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor for suicide awareness and prevention. 

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at First Baptist Church Ferris, Texas. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at First Baptist Church Ferris, Texas. Pastor Eddie Minor officiating

Interment will follow at Ferris Memorial Park North Ferris, Texas.
