Esther Ann (Deitz) O'Neal

Esther Ann (Deitz) O’Neal, age 85 passed away December 27, 2023. She was born in Syracuse, New York, January 6, 1938 to Allen Winslow and Ann Catherine (White) Deitz. At the age of 14 she began working in healthcare and became a nurse assistant at 16. She began her family in Syracuse and later moved to New Hampshire, then Arkansas, before making her home in Dallas, Texas. She married the love of her life Gerald O’Neal, October 13, 1979. Together they enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states and several countries in Europe and in Central America. She was active with the Eastern Star for more than 30 years and was a very loving and devoted grandmother. She worked as a registered nurse until the age of 83. She will be missed by who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Ann Deitz; husband Gerald O’Neal; brothers: Allen Deitz; Gerald Deitz; sisters: Sharon Deitz and Ruth Welch.
She is survived by her children: Thomas Jones of San Francisco, California, Jackie Lemons of Red Oak, Texas, Janice Rourk of Midlothian, Texas, and Kevin O’Neal of Heber Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren: Michael Lemons, Anna Hoyle, John O’Neal, Esther Newman-Shaw, Fae Rourk, and Guy Rourk; three great-grandchildren: David Newman, Leviticus Newman and Isaiah Lemons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 
Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, December 29, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas. Bro. Bill Southard officiating.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery Cedar Hill, Texas.
