Eric Wickliffe

Eric Lee Wickliffe, age 59 of Ferris, Texas passed away on January 19, 2026. He was born on June 6, 1966, in Ennis, Texas to Emmit and Annetta (Vessels) Wickliffe. Eric grew up in the Ferris area and graduated from Ferris High School, where he was involved in agriculture and was a member of the Future Farmers of America; after graduating in 1985, he began a career in industrial maintenance, working for several factories over the years, including ATCO. Eric was an incredibly crafty individual who loved working with his hands. Over the years, he enjoyed working on many projects including woodworking, rope crafts and making cross necklaces, cups, and rings. He was rarely idle, always keeping himself busy creating something new. When he took on a project, he went all in; pouring time, energy, and care into everything he made. A quiet and private person, Eric tended to keep to himself. However, those who were closest to him knew how deeply he loved and cared for them, showing it in his own thoughtful ways. He especially loved his nieces and nephews and made sure they were always remembered with generous gifts for birthdays and Christmas. He gave his time, support, and presence whenever he could; he had a deep love for movies and possessed an impressive knowledge of film history, actors, and trivia. He especially enjoyed science fiction movies, comics, anime, and attending Comic-Cons. His passion for these interests brought him joy and connection to the worlds he loved. Eric will be remembered for his quiet nature, creative spirit, dedication to his family, and the many things he made with his hands and heart. His memory will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Emmit and Annetta Wickliffe.

He is survived by his sister Nita and husband Sammy Garcia, sister Brenda and husband Ray Smith; nieces and nephews; Samuel and Loriana Garcia, Patrick and Katherine Garcia, Briana and Salvador Perez, April and husband Mark Stewart, Curtis Smith and Ray Smith, Jr. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
