Ellen M. (Porter) Scott, age 76 of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away June 15, 2025. Born January 19, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, she was the youngest of five children born to Travis B. and Billie M. (Bowen) Porter. At a young age, Ellen’s family moved to Brownwood, Texas where she grew up and graduated from high school. She went on to attend Howard Payne University before marrying and beginning a family of her own. Ellen was a devoted mother to her three wonderful children, and her love for them was evident in every chapter of her life. Ellen spent her professional life as a dedicated secretary, working for various companies until her well-earned retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and warm personality that made her a joy to work alongside. Ellen had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for family. She enjoyed some travel and taking memorable family camping trips, especially many cherished times spent at the dock at Brownwood Lake. She was fun-loving, kind-hearted, energetic, and always brought warmth and joy wherever she went. She also had a passion for cooking and was known for keeping a large and bountiful garden. Her home was often filled with the rich aromas of homemade meals and the beauty of homegrown produce, a true testament to her nurturing nature. Above all, Ellen was a devoted mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, and a beloved friend. Her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Travis and Billie Porter; sister Charlotte Porter; son Terry Shane Scott; and son James Stacy Scott.
She is survived by daughter Kristan Goudy of Fort Worth; grandsons: Trenton Scott Goudy and Tyson Seth Goudy both of Fort Worth; sister Scarlet Nance of Waxahachie; sister Beth Turner of Brownwood; and brother Joe Porter of Burnett; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.
Graveside service will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas. Pastor Mike Miles officiating.
