Elizabeth "Susie" L'Heureux Obituary

“Susie” Elizabeth Ann L’Heureux, age 70 of Red Oak, Texas passed away on July 5, 2026. Susie was born on October 19, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Margaret (McMasters) Jones. She graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas before marrying the love of her life Robert Gene L’Heureux, Jr., on June 7, 1974 in Dallas. Together they built a loving home and shared more than five decades of marriage. Susie began her career at Hagar Slacks, where she first worked in sorting before learning the art of silk screening. She continued in that role until 1981, when she and Robert moved to Red Oak, Texas where she devoted herself to being a homemaker. A woman of faith, she faithfully served at Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak, assisting in the church office with printing bulletins and helping with office duties whenever she was needed. She had a servant’s heart and quietly found joy in helping others. Susie is known for her kind spirit and loved by all who knew her. She was easy to get along with and always genuine in her love for family and friends. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through tie-dye projects and making beautiful beaded bracelets and necklaces for her nieces, gifts that were made with love and treasured by those who received them. She found joy in planting flowers around her home and took pride in making her yard beautiful for as long as she was able. Susie enjoyed music and loved taking drives with Robert, whether it was simply exploring the countryside or visiting one of her favorite parks. Together they created cherished memories traveling to Galveston and Las Vegas. Susie had a special place in her heart for animals; if she had her way, there would have been one of everything on the farm. Pigs, goats, rabbits, horses, and countless other animals all brought her joy, reflecting her gentle and compassionate nature. She treasured her family, her faith, and the simple blessings of life. Her kindness, creativity, generous heart, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

She is preceded in death by her father Charles Jones.

She has survived by her husband Robert Gene L’Heureux, Jr.; mother Margaret Jones; sister Lisa Marie Bracken; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
