Dorothy "Mama Dot" Louise Thompson

Dorothy Louise, “Mama Dot”, Thompson, age 77 of DeSoto, Texas passed away November 30, 2022. She was born July 20, 1945 in Palmer, Texas and grew up in Ferris, Texas where she attended school. Mama Dot, as she was affectionately known by all who knew her, was an exceptionally loving and giving individual. She worked in various occupations including interior design and housekeeping and a shelter for women and children.

She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Lucille and Hubert Bonner; father Forrest Thompson; brother Lewis Daniel; brother Forrest Thompson; sister Eva Jewel Russell; nephew Lil Thomas Sanders and granddaughter Larissa Aguilar.

She is survived by her sons: Bobby Ray and wife Shawn Cox, Donnie Thompson, Lonnie Dale Thompson and Bashir and wife Lori Thompson; grandchildren: Chantay Cox, Damion Cox, Barry Black Jr. and wife Asheley, Andre’ Black Sr., Chassadi Cox, Paul Chandler, Diamond Chandler, Crystal Chandler, Victor and wife Mariah Aguilar; great-grandchildren: Alantis Wallace, Gerald Wilson, Jr., Sanayia Hall, Mariah Cox, Damion Cox, Jr., Messiah Cox, Logan Anderson, Andre’ Black, Jr., and Kenzie; siblings: Rosemary Parker, Olivia and husband Archie Clark, Eva Gilder, Hubert Bonner, Jr., and Tina Robertson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.  

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Green Funeral Home Ferris, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Green Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Thompson.

Burial to follow at Carver Memorial Park Ferris, Texas.
