Dorothy Wofford Obituary

Dorothy Jean (Poor) Wofford, age 77 passed away April 6, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 30, 1945 in Negley, Texas to the late Otto Virgil and Irene (Freeze) Poor, she was one of five siblings. She met the love of her life Bobby Wofford; they were married April 29, 1963 and were blessed with two children: Robert and Angel. When the kids started school, she begin working as a receptionist for H&O Electric. She was a dedicated mother and later grandmother of five and great-grandmother of nine. She is remembered for her chocolate pie and banana ice cream, as well as her love of western movies and her favorite show, Gunsmoke; she could watch it all day long. She enjoyed many trips to the WinStar casino in Oklahoma as well as trips to Shreveport, Louisiana. She is remembered for being mildly spoken, never carrying a grudge and always being the nicest person. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Irene Poor; brother George Poor, brother Paul Poor and sister Jane Brooks.

She is survived by loving husband Bobby Wofford; son Robert and wife Melissa Wofford of Red Oak; daughter Angel and husband Mitchell Brown of Red Oak; five grandchildren: Hallie, Emilie, Ricky, Joshua and Joseph; 10 great grand babies: Jaxon, Kinslie, Levi, Colson, Damein, Ariel, Jackson, Rielly, Oliver and JoJo; brother Virgil Andrew and wife Janice Poor of Kemp; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
