Dorothy Adams (Moser), age 95, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Born on November 4, 1928, in Henrietta, Texas to Jacob and Louise (Obermier) Moser, she was one of 9 children. Dorothy graduated high school from Henrietta High School at which time she attended Cosmetology school in Dallas, Texas. She was introduced to her husband, Alton, by his sister and the two were married on March 19, 1949. They then settled in Ellis County where she worked as a hairdresser. The two had four children. She is fondly remembered for having fresh Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies or cinnamon rolls ready for the kids when they got off the school bus, but not before they washed their hands. Dorothy loved tending to her gardenias and vegetable garden. When she wasn’t in the kitchen making sweet treats for the kids or tending to her vegetables, she could be found doing arts and crafts or sewing. Her family has table runners and doilies she crocheted for them over the years still in their homes. She and her husband traveled in their earlier years and enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska aboard a cruise ship. She enjoyed golfing with Alton. Dorothy’s children and grandchildren will miss the Easter egg hunts she put together every year, even though they were adults.
Dorothy is proceeded in death by her parents Jacob and Louise Moser; husband Alton Adams and siblings: Herbert Moser, Alvina Waggoner, Raymond Moser, Bernice Moser, John Moser, Thelma Britt, and Robert Moser and one daughter Connie Sutton.
She is survived by her children Roger Adams and wife Brenda of Waxahachie, Texas, Patti Hooker and husband Gary of Farmersville, Texas, and Barry Adams of Palmer, Texas; grandchildren: Eric, April, Travis, Janet, Morgan, Niki, Whitney; 10 great grandchildren; sister Mary Lou of Quitman, Texas, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 19, 2024, at Green Funeral Home located at 105 Vintage Drive Red Oak, Texas at 10:00 am.
Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am at Green Funeral Home Red Oak.
