Donna Gail (Baze) Drake

Donna Gail (Baze) Drake, age 64 of Ferris, Texas passed away on June 27, 2023. Born on April 26, 1959 in Dallas, Texas to Elba Jean (Anderson) and Bobby Lain Baze, she was raised in Oak Cliff and later graduated from Castleberry High School in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduation she attended Eastfield College. Donna always worked in the medical field doing everything from secretarial work to medical billing and coding. When Donna was not working, she could be found cruising the seas, Cozumel was her favorite destination. She loved Mexican Vanilla, which aided in her love of baking and cooking. She was so good in the kitchen she could improve any recipe. She enjoyed traveling to visit with family. Donna liked to dance almost as much as she loved being outdoors mowing the yard or gardening whether it was vegetables or flowers. Donna was fiercely loyal to her family. Her grandkids were her world and being “Mimi” was her most favorite name. Donna could thrift with the best of them and always knew how to make the best of her resources to provide in any way she could for her family. She was known for her beautiful long braided hair. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bobby Lain and Elba Jean Baze; sister Rita Brown, brother Jimmy Anderson, sister-in-law Wanda Baze and her grandparents Jim Boone and Lena Ava Anderson.

She is survived by her children: Heather Jeanette Drake of Arlington, Texas; Stephanie Brooke Malkosky of Ferris, Texas; grandchildren: Joseph Dickerson and Colbie Patterson; siblings: Sondra and Freddy Yates of Moore, Oklahoma; Bobby Baze of Red Oak and Rebecca Baze of Red Oak, Texas as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.  

Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00 PM Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas. Pastor Steve Hamm officiating.
