Donna Rebecca (Kizziah) Connor

Donna Rebecca Connor, age 65 passed away September 6, 2024. Born on September 21, 1958, to Joe Kizziah and Lodean Smith, Donna grew up in Chattanooga, where she graduated from Chattanooga Central High School. Donna pursued her passion for stained glass art in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where she studied and later owned a stained glass company. Later in life, she found fulfillment as a homemaker, dedicating her life to her family and helping her father with his business. She was a beloved "Yaya" to her grandchildren, always ready to host popcorn and ice cream parties, teaching them the art of cooking and baking, and filling their lives with joy and laughter. Donna loved gardening, spending countless hours outside cultivating beauty in her surroundings. Donna’s love for music was a defining part of her life. She attended concerts for bands like U2, Elton John, Linkin Park, and My Chemical Romance, and was a fan of The Cure and Seal. She also loved shopping and relished in being an active grandmother. Her family remembers unforgettable trips to New York City, Atlanta, and South Carolina. Donna had a fearless personality, always doing what she wanted without worrying about what others thought. She was a fighter, strong-willed, and outspoken. Her bond with her cat Binx was another special part of her life. Donna lovingly bottle-fed him as a kitten and made sure he was well-cared for, with plenty of treats and naps, treating him as if he were her own child. Donna will be remembered for her humor, her devotion to her family, and her unapologetic zest for life. She leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will miss her deeply. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Lodean Kizziah.

She is survived by her daughter Hillary Yarbrough and husband Andrew Selby; grandchildren: Lily Rose Selby, Astor Hawthorne Selby, Juniper Olive Selby and Camden Yarbrough; sister Teri Kizziah Smith and loving feline companion Binx.
