Donald Ray Morgan

Donald Ray Morgan, age 75 of Ferris, Texas passed away March 28, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1950 in Golden, Colorado to Russell Morgan and Audrey Durham. After his education, he found his calling in construction, specializing in concrete. His hard work and determination led him to own his own concrete company, which he later sold before moving to Dallas, Texas where he started another successful concrete business. Donald was a true Denver Broncos fan through and through. He enjoyed a cold Coors Light, a good round of golf, and playing poker with friends. He had a sharp wit, a mischievous sense of humor, and just the right amount of stubbornness. He was known for his sarcasm, but he always had solid life advice to share when it mattered most. Above all, Donald deeply loved the love of his life, Patricia Piccola, and cherished his family and friends. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—western movies, coffee on the back porch, listening to the radio (especially his favorite segment, the Second Date Update), and country music, both old and new. He never passed up a chance to enjoy Patricia’s cooking, especially if sweets were involved. Donald’s presence will be deeply missed, but his humor, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Audrey Morgan; brother Dennis Morgan; and son Shawn Morgan. 

He is survived by wife and companion of 30 years, Patricia Piccola; children: Stacy and husband Cody Burton, Shelli Piccola, Angie and husband Jimmy White, Shannon and husband John DeLeon and Kenneth and wife Shauna Edwards; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother Ronnie and wife Judy Morgan.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2025at Green Funeral Home -Ferris, Texas.
