Diane Lusk, age 60 of Wilmer, Texas passed away August 30, 2021. She was born September 3, 1960 in Dallas, Texas to the late Ruben Eugene and Elvis Maxine (Ritchey) Gilliam. She graduated from Wilmer Hutchins high school in 1978 and was a lifelong North Texas girl, who began to cook at a very early age, feeding countless meals to her family, friends and restaurant goers. She also served the Wilmer Hutchins area as police dispatch and in the Hutchins court. Diane loved her family and was always ready to talk about her grand babies! She also appreciated her quiet time, often enjoying crocheting with a glass of sweet tea. Her cooking at the Metro Grill in Ferris, Texas was legendary and was loved by many over the three years she cooked there. Diane’s memory is treasured by many and will surely be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; godmother Chrissy Cowan and her best friend and granddog Blue Dream.
She is survived by son Thomas Lusk and fiance Shelby Austin of Dallas; daughter Jessica Lusk and husband Jesse Garcia of Mesquite; grandson Elijah Garcia, granddaughter Isabella Garcia and granddaughter Brandi Lusk; brother Huell and wife Glenda Gilliam of Hutchins; sister Marsha Blakley of Red Oak, sister Denise Wilt of Ferris; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the First Baptist Church 204 W. Athens Hutchins, Texas.
