Christie Druin Windsor went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ December 18 at her apartment at Arabella Senior Living Center in Red Oak. She was 67.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held January 6 from 7 PM to 9 PM at Green Funeral Home, 105 Vintage Drive, in Red Oak.
Christie was born in Amarillo, Texas, on August 18, 1958, the daughter of Larra and Toby Druin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Larra, and an infant brother, David Allen Druin.
Survivors are her two sons, Toby, and his wife, Jodie, and Grandsons Garrett and Connor; Christopher and his wife, Lauren, and granddaughters Charlotte and Olivia; her father, Toby, and his wife, Vickie, of Waxahachie; sisters DeAnna Jarnagin and huband Dusty of Cedar Hill, TX, and Sherry Hight of Dallas.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews and their children: Jessica and Butch Walker and Riley and Cash Walker of Waxahachie; BriAnna and Beau Beauchamp of Dallas; Will and Hillary Jarnagin and John Henry and George Jarnagin of Castle Rock, CO; Tressa and Corey Gilmore and Trey, Ashton, and Maela Gilmore of Duncanville.
Christie made a profession of faith in Christ as a child. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie, although her participation there had been limited since suffering a stroke in August 2023.
As a teen-ager in Raleigh, NC, she became an avid tennis player and rode her bicycle many miles over the city's streets. She loved to water ski. She was a graduate of Berkmar High School in Lilburn, GA.
Christie had a heart for senior adults. While in high school, she worked as an orderly in a nursing home and after the family moved to Texas in 1976 she earned an associates degree in nursing at El Centro College in Dallas. She later earned certification in gerontology and diabetes education. After working in home health care for several years, she directed the diabetes education program at BaylorWorx in Waxahachie.
