Charles “Charlie” Edward Miner, 80, of Ferris, Texas passed away January 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family and his dog Lily.
Charlie was born in Picher, Oklahoma on December 31, 1942, to Willard “Pete” Charles Miner and Lorene Harlin Miner.
Charlie was married to Delores “Doe” Nanette Smith on June 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. He worked at Freeman Foods as a Supervisor, Strickland Freight as a Dock Supervisor and as a Truck driver. Following that, he was a Fire Chief for Ferris Fire Department and soon retired to live his life to the fullest. He loved hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and reloading with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Charlie will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Charlie is preceded in death by the love of his life, Doe; his parents; siblings: Doris Bloyed and husband Clifton, Carol Wright and husband James, and niece Janie Kuban.
Charlie is survived by son Charles “Eddie” Edward Miner Jr and wife Dee and daughter Teresa Duran and husband Henry. Grandchildren: Amber Guerrero and husband Jorge, Charles “Chase” Edward Miner III and wife Amy, Jennifer Wilkinson and husband Lance, Cortney Irving and husband Will, Brooke Meistrell and husband Daniel, Chelsey Chapman and husband Brandon “Buddy”, and Charlene O’Neal and husband Cody. Also, his brother Raymond Miner and wife Patsy.
Charlie was a very proud “Papa” to his great-grandchildren: McKenzie and Adrian Aaron, Jorge Guerrero III, Ethan and Elayna Miner, Trey and Hayden Wilkinson, Emma Stapleton, Bryan, Preston, and Landon Meistrell, Jaxson and Jase Chapman, and Carson Wherley.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Ferris Memorial Park North.
