It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolyn Sue Gray Tullas born September 3, 1946 to Lewis D. Gray and Theo Swan Gray in Breckenride, Texas. Carolyn passed away peacefully at her home on February 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was a beloved mother, cherished friend, and a kind soul whose warmth and love touched the lives of many. Carolyn was a loving and caring sister to Ethel Elaine Gray (deceased), Mary Myrtle Crockett, Thomas Eugene Crockett (deceased), Billy Ray Crockett, and William Lewis Gray (deceased).
She is survived by her five children, who were the light of her life: Patsy "Patty" Jordan, Paula Balanga, Peggy Smith-Pendley, Brandon C. Smith, and Marc Cruz. She was also a proud and loving grandmother, with 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Carolyn's unyielding love and support for her family were the foundation of her life, and her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured. An avid reader and a passionate crafter, Carolyn found joy in creative pursuits and in the beauty of the world around her. She had a deep love for nature, and the sight of butterflies, hummingbirds, and cardinals brought her great joy. Her heart was especially fond of giraffes, a symbol of her graceful spirit and boundless curiosity. Her loyal companion, Lucy, a dog with a heart as big as Carolyn's, was a trusted friend who brought comfort to her daily life. Carolyn was deeply loved by her friends and family. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. While her presence will be profoundly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May Carolyn's soul rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to shine brightly through the love she gave to all.
