Carol Trees Obituary

Carol Jeanne (Tyler) Trees, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 76 in Red Oak, Texas. Carol was born on November 13, 1948, in Waxahachie, Texas to Roland and Vivian (Bailey) Tyler. After graduating from high school, she attended East Texas State University, now known as East Texas A&M University-Commerce. Carol then met the love of her life, Billy Trees; together, they shared a lifetime of love and adventure, traveling whenever they could. A lifelong educator, Carol dedicated her career to shaping young minds. She taught in various schools across Ellis County before retiring from the Waxahachie Independent School District. Even in retirement, her passion for education endured as she continued serving as a substitute teacher. Carol was a quiet yet strong-willed woman, known for her opinions and her fair but firm approach. She loved cats and supported many charitable organizations close to her heart, including the SPCA, American Red Cross, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas. Above all, Carol was a woman of faith, loving the Lord from a young age and living her life with devotion and purpose. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and service that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Roland and Vivian Tyler; husband Billy Trees; and brother Gerald Tyler.

She is survived by her brother Roland Wyndell Tyler; nephew Tommy and wife Sheila Tyler; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.
