Carl David Hudson

Carl David Hudson, age 63, passed away on July 26, 2024. He was born on December 13, 1960, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Charles Robert Hudson and Lillian Mae Jackson. Carl's early life was marked by frequent relocations between various states, Carl graduated from Cabrillo High School in 1979 in California before moving to Ovilla, Texas, where they built their home. He then began a journey of various jobs, eventually establishing his independence. He had a remarkable talent for fixing and improving electronics, including two-way radios and televisions. This skill naturally extended to his passion for DJ'ing and facilitating karaoke at weddings, birthdays, and other events. He met the love of his life Pamela Joan Arnold, 31 years ago. Their engagement story, highlighted by Carl's rendition of "Pretty Woman," remains a cherished memory. Carl had a deep appreciation for music, favoring artists like Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, and George Strait. His passion led him to several studio recordings. Carl was also known for his love of Southern Comfort, trivia competitions, photography and videography, often capturing air shows and other significant events. An avid collector, Carl's interests spanned Star Wars memorabilia, CDs, records, teddy bears, guns, and hats. His home once featured an impressive display of eight trains intersecting two miniature villages. Carl's creativity shone during holidays, with elaborate Halloween and Christmas decorations transforming his home into a festive wonderland. Carl and Pam shared a deep love for rescuing animals. He was known for his laid-back, funny, and gentle nature, although he was also recognized for his stubbornness and unfiltered honesty. He never met a stranger and cherished unique dining experiences during his travels. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Pam Hudson; children: Nolan and wife Tammy Lehman, Ava and husband Christopher Duncan and Albert Blocker; grandchildren: Megan Gallup, Nolan Lehman, Serena Duncan, Ashton Duncan, Cody Lehman and Ozzie McClure; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and dear friends.

Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas. Jason Harris officiating.

A Memorial is also planned for 8:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Boxcar in Red Oak, TX.
