Camille Pierce Obituary

Camille Eris Pierce, born January 2, 1933, in Hammond, Louisiana to Allan Davis and Eugenia Foster, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 92.

Camille was a devoted and loving member of her community, a treasured matriarch in her family, and a faithful servant of God. She served 21 years with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service as a legal secretary. A proud member of First Red Oak Baptist Church for over 40 years, she taught Sunday school for many years and volunteered at the church twice a week. She cherished quality time with her fellow church members, embracing them as family. She had a charitable heart, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Known for her stubborn, steadfast, and strong-willed nature, Camille had a unique way of bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her ornery sense of humor and competitive spirit made her a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. Camille’s artistic soul was reflected in her love for sewing with her children and grandchildren, as well as in her passion for music and traveling. She loved piecing together puzzles and playing Mahjong. Camille also amassed a large collection of elephants, gifted to her over the years.

Her love for animals was clear, and she was devoted to her pets. Above all, Camille’s greatest joy came from her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and all who called her family, and her legacy lives on through the love she gave.

Camille is preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Eugenia Davis; her husband, Reed Pierce; her granddaughter, Paige Villers; her daughter, Genie Lee Hilliard; her son-in-law, Johnny Wilhelm Jr.; and her brothers: Eugene, Charles, and Douglas Davis.

She is survived by her children: Susan Wilhelm, Carol Christian (Rick Barthold), and James Hilliard (Brenda); her brother, Allan Davis (Frances); 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
