C. Robert Coker Obituary

C. Robert Coker, age 40 of Scurry, Texas passed away September 4, 2021. He was born October 5, 1980 in Arcadia, Florida. In his youth he moved to Ellis County, Texas and attended Mabank, Texas high school. He returned back to Ferris and worked as an HVAC installer and then begin work with Metroplex Exit Doors where he worked for more than 10 years, most recently as job foreman. But his greatest achievement was being dad to his boys James and Brandon. They were the light of his life. Robert always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone in a time of need, always working and often foregoing sleep to provide for his boys. He adored James and Brandon and was the best dad anyone could ask for. All his life he enjoyed going fast and experiencing extreme sports. He loved working on cars with his boys and riding motorcycles, fast cars and the freedom he felt while driving them at Xtreme Raceway Park and the Cedar Creek Dragway. The boys will miss him grilling every weekend and the ribs and other spicy foods he loved to make for them. He loved various types of music and different styles from many genres of music. With that love, he enjoyed trying to stump others playing name-that-tune. He was always drawn to the outdoors, riding bikes or mowing the lawn. His sons will always treasure memories of their trips to the beach at Daytona and Destin, Florida. Robert’s light and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; father Bobby Boyette and brother Cecil Boyette.
He is survived by his sons: James Coker and Brandon Coker of Scurry, TX; baby mama Candace Ward; mother Carol (Hill) Boyette; brother Anthony Boyette; sister Bobbie Jean Ramos; sister Willa Callaway; brother James Boyette; best friend Paul Traywick and family Monique Traywick, Khya Traywick and Devon Traywick; Joey Robertson; and lifelong sisters Angela Merrifield and Lacie Wagner. Missing Robert especially is his beloved canine companion and baby boy, his pitbull Blue.
