Blanca Estela (Quintanilla) Hernandez, age 74, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025. She was born on March 27, 1951 in Reynosa, Mexico to Jesus Quintanilla and Celestina Resendez. After completing her education, Blanca worked briefly before marrying Cirilo Hernandez. Together they built a life centered around family, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising their children. A proud homemaker, Blanca was witty, clever, and loving; with a strong will and a signature sense of humor. She was known for her blunt honesty and her unique way of making a point, always teaching life lessons with her honest wisdom. Her fairness and devotion to her children never wavered; she loved them equally and wholeheartedly. Blanca had a passion for crocheting, and enjoyed visiting places like the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, and a family cruise where, instead of resting, she fully engaged in every activity. She was sharp with numbers and managed money with care and precision, with her organization and sense of luck—especially during football squares contests at work, where she always seemed to win. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, she passed on that love to her children. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, fairness, and the life lessons she taught. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Jesus and Celestina Quintanilla; two brothers and one sister.
She has survived by husband Cirilo Hernandez; daughter Patricia Hernandez; son Juan Alejandro Hernandez and son Eduardo and wife Teresa Hernandez; grandchildren: Cynthia and Erick Perette, Juanito Valdez, Samantha Valdez, Arial and husband Benny Carrizal, Janae and husband Joshua Flores, Jocelyne and husband Kaleb Honts, Erika Obregon, Luis Hernandez and Daniela Hernandez; 11 great-grandchildren, and sister San Juanita Campos.
