Billie Boatright Obituary

Billie Ann (Lanier) Boatright, age 81 of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2024. Born on September 11, 1942 in Statesville, North Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of William C. and Merle (Ostwalt) Lanier. Billie Ann completed her high school education in North Carolina before moving to Dallas, Texas with her family in 1960. She embarked on a career in banking, starting at Oak Cliff Bank, where she worked on the key punch machine. It was during this time that she met Billy Boatright, and together they started a family, welcoming three sons: Keith, Chris, and Mike. Later as a single mother, Miss Billie demonstrated immense strength and determination, raising her three boys with unwavering dedication. She was known for her strong will and love of fiction, frequently immersing herself in the works of some of her favorite authors: Anne Rice and John Grisham. Billie cherished the time spent with her sons, particularly their weekly outings to the movies and dinners together. Her love for these moments created lasting memories that her family will hold dear. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents William C. and Merle Lanier.

She is survived by her sons: Keith Boatright, Chris Boatright and Mike and wife Kimberly Boatright; grandchildren: Ryan, and A. J. Boatright; brother Tim and wife Diane Lanier; nephew Eric Lanier and Chloe Lanier.
