Billie Cloyce (Bell) Bloyed

Billie Stevenson - Bloyed passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at Bluebonnet Rehabilitation in Ennis, Texas, under the compassionate care of Century Hospice.

Billie was born to C. C. Bell and Lula Bell, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jalene Martin; her first husband of 47 years, Carl Stevenson; her second husband of 17 years, James Bloyd; her brothers, R.C. Bell, Harold Bell, and Almond Bell; and her sister, Mary Fagan.

She is survived by her loving children: David and Carla Bratcher, Clarence Bratcher and Allison Phillips, Dean and Connie Bratcher, Pam and James House, Janet and Larry Hawkins, and Tina and Lee Morris.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Ginger and Sammy Martin, Tonja and Rick Collins, Scott Martin, Jason and Katie Watson, Marcus Watson, Matthew and Cynthia Bratcher, Brent and Michelle Bratcher, Nikki House, Travis Bratcher, Melissa and Barron Lockhart, Melody and Casey Lane, Casey Morris and Miranda Abrams, and Halie Morris and Patrick Clark, along with a multitude of great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Billie is also survived by her siblings: Jimmy and Catherine Bell, Betty Wickcliffe, Paul David Bell, and Nan and Dave Clark, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Billie often described herself as a happy little redheaded twin who was always "Mama's baby." She and her twin sister were known throughout their community as the "Bell Twins." Growing up on a small farm, life was simple, and while their family had little, Billie fondly remembered never wondering where their next meal would come from or where they would sleep. She cherished those childhood memories and the close bond she shared with her twin, saying they were never far apart.

At the age of 17, Billie met the love of her young life, Carl Stevenson. They married soon after and shared 47 wonderful years together while raising a large and loving family.

As a young woman, Billie dreamed of becoming a hairdresser, but God had different plans for her. Blessed with remarkable talent and creativity, she became an exceptional seamstress. She lovingly designed and created beautiful wedding gowns, pageant dresses, cheerleading uniforms, and countless custom garments. Her work reflected not only her incredible skill but also the care and love she poured into everything she made. She also worked at Marilyn Belt & Bags, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Never one to stop learning, Billie proudly earned her GED in 1982, proving that it is never too late to pursue a dream. After earning her GED, she joined Ferris ISD, where she worked in the Special Education program. She found great joy in helping children with special needs, offering them patience, encouragement, and unconditional kindness.

After her years with Ferris ISD, Billie continued her life's calling of caring for others by becoming a Home Health Specialist, serving elderly individuals and children with special needs. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and willingness to help made her a trusted caregiver and a blessing to countless families.

Later in life, Billie found love again when she married James Bloyd. Together they shared 17 happy years filled with companionship, laughter, and love.

Above all else, Billie loved her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She celebrated every milestone, treasured every visit, and loved each member of her family with all her heart.

Billie's faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and trusted Him through every season of life. She faithfully attended church whenever she was able, and when she could no longer be there in person, she remained close to God by listening to the Bible on her cassette tapes. The Scriptures gave her comfort, strength, and peace, and her unwavering faith was evident in the way she lived, loved, and cared for others. She believed God's promises and looked forward to the day she would be welcomed into His presence.

Billie will be remembered for her warm smile, generous heart, unwavering faith, remarkable talent, quiet strength, and selfless devotion to others. Whether she was sewing a wedding dress, helping a child succeed, caring for someone in need, or sharing God's love through her actions, Billie lived a life defined by compassion, grace, and service.

Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and perseverance will continue to live on through the generations of family she cherished so dearly.
