Bill F. Hamm, Sr.

Bill Forrester Hamm, Sr., age 63 of Ferris, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020. He was born in April of 1957 to Clifton Howard and Katherine Lynn (McDowell) Hamm in Ennis, Texas. Bill spent about 30 years in the automotive industry from sales to finance and everything in between. As a dedicated father, he coached his children's baseball teams throughout their childhood, enjoying being a part of the sport. Bill was a talented carpenter and spent many hours on various building and improvement projects for himself and others. He was also known locally for his presence in the restaurant and bar industry as an owner or manager. Bill loved being in the outdoors and especially near the water at Crystal Beach in Galveston to fish and be with family and friends. He is remembered for his cooking skills and love of frying fish, BBQ'ing and grilling. Bill gave his heart to Christ at the age of 12 and later rededicated his life in 1990, after which he ministered and shared the love of Jesus, leaving an unforgettable mark on the lives of many family members, friends and strangers alike. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father Clifton H. Hamm, who passed in 1995.
He is survived by his loving children: Shawn Hamm of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Bill Forrester Hamm, Jr., of Dallas, Christopher Hamm of Ferris and Candice and husband Bryan Dorsey of Midlothian; cherished grandchildren: Hannah, Hailey and Dylan Dorsey; devoted mother Katherine Hamm of Ferris; siblings: Steve and wife Cynthia Hamm of Ferris, Patricia and husband Steve Taylor of Scurry, Tommy and wife Sharon of Ferris and Kathy and husband Clayton Hunter of Ferris as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 
An open Visitation will be held 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Green Funeral Home.
The family will hold a private Service at 11 AM Friday, May 8, 2020 at Green Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ferris Memorial Park North, Ferris, Texas.
