Beverly Ann Shuemaker, 68, of Wilmer Texas, passed away on May 8, 2026. Beverly was born in Highland, Illinois where she spent her childhood and created many treasured memories. Growing up, she spent countless happy days at Patriots Park in Greenville, where her grandparents served as groundskeepers. She graduated from Greenville High School and soon after, began working at Hillview Nursing Home, where she devoted more than 15 years to caring for others. Beverly married her first husband and welcomed her only child in 1977, beginning the role she treasured in life, being a mother and later a grandmother. In 1992, Beverly moved to Texas and began a successful career as a biomedical equipment technician. In 1994, she married her second husband, Tim, who lovingly embraced the role of grandfather when Beverly’s three grandchildren were born in 1997, 2002, and 2004. Beverly had a beautiful singing voice and loved praising the Lord through music. She faithfully attended Windsor Park Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir. Every Sunday before church, she would visit residents at her local nursing home to sing for them, bringing comfort, smiles, and encouragement to so many. On July 24, 2021, Beverly married Gordon Shuemaker, the love and companion who helped her discover a passion for travel and adventure. Together they made many cherished memories visiting beach destinations including Key West and South Padre Island. She was also known for her love of baking and was especially famous among family and friends for her homemade nutmeg cookies, sugar cookies, brown sugar cookies, and M&M cookies, treats that became a symbol of her love and generosity. Beverly was strong-willed, outgoing, and unforgettable. She could be bossy, headstrong, and hardheaded, but those who knew her best understood those traits came from her fierce love and determination. She never met a stranger and would gladly give her last dollar to help someone she loved. She was a devoted provider, a loyal friend, and someone whose heart was always open to others. A passionate dog lover, Beverly shared a particularly special bond with her beloved Maltese, Baby Girl, who she loved as if she were her own daughter. Beverly will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generous heart, her faith, her music, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched through kindness, laughter, song, and love.
